The advantages of spread betting

Financial spread betting allows you to benefit from both up and down moves on stock indexed, individual shares, currencies, bonds and commodities.
And what attracts people to this particular type of financial speculation is that the profits you make are 100 per cent tax free. But that’s not the only advantage to financial spread betting. In fact, there are a number of reasons why people get involved in it.

Firstly, you can trade with smaller amounts of money.  With spread bets, it is possible to trade £1 or £2 a point. And in order to build up your expertise, so that you can start playing around with larger amounts of money, most brokers offer their own free training courses.

A major advantage to financial spread betting is that there are no commissions or stamp duty. Trade shares in the London market and there’s no stamp duty to pay.

Spread bets can also be traded on a lot of the world’s markets. All spread bets are traded via pounds per point so there’s never any currency risk and you don’t need to change foreign currency back into sterling.

This makes it a straight forward, highly advantageous type of financial speculation to get involved in.
