Trade what you see and NOT what you expect to see. There are many products out there offering spread betting opportunities and remember you don’t always have to be an expert.
Being in the right market at the right time is paramount. It doesn’t matter how experienced and knowledgeable you are, there is always a risk that the market will take an unexpected turn.
By all means, do the research and study historical data to identify trends etc. but put emotion and any blinkered thoughts/views aside and trade the market for what it is.
Nobody knows exactly where it's going, only where it's been. It’s all well and good trading with the trend, but don’t be blinkered and dismiss going against it if the timing feels right.
You really don’t have to be in a trade all the time to make money; you only need to be in a trade at the right time as many traders will testify to.
If you see it moving in unpredictable directions, to keep your risk to a minimum don’t be afraid to walk away and wait for another opportunity.
There will always another opportunity. You just need to be patient and seize the opportunity when it comes up. He who hesitates could well be lost in financial spread trading in particular.
If you don’t think you have enough patience, but still want to venture into spread betting, you better go and get some – fast.
Good luck!
